CIP at IP4Business in Tallinn

CIPs Bowman Heiden and Anton Svensson participated in the IP4Business Training Roadshow event the 12th of October in the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tallinn.

The IP4Business roadshow aims to educate and inspire SMEs, entrepreneurs, inventors, designers, tech transfer professionals and students on how to work with intellectual property and assets to grow. The session was very interesting with a run-down of the IPR helpdesk activities along with a presentation of the Unitary patent and unitary patent court system that is due to be implemented shortly after many years of work.

Heiden held a lecture based on intellectual asset management and the theoretical framework of the three arenas which was followed by a presentation of one of the case studies performed on behalf of the EPO on Skeleton Technologies, an Estonian company developing, producing and selling graphene ultracapacitators. It is an interesting case of one of the first commercialized applications of the “two dimensional” material which enables superior performance to ultracapacitators.

It was a great event and a great opportunity to build on the strong collaboration between CIP and the European Patent Office.
