Solutions Analyst UK @ Cipher

Your Career – Solutions Analyst

The primary purpose of the role is the training of machine learning classifiers through supervised learning techniques. The classifiers are used to tag published patents against specific technologies. The supervised learning is all done through the Cipher patent analytics platform and no prior experience of machine learning techniques is necessary.

Your Responsibilities

The role requires following established procedures and best practice to deliver results. Some experience in patent analytics, while not necessary, is an advantage.

Workflow includes desk-based research on specific technologies and companies. Other elements of the role include participation in client scoping and review calls, contribution to qualitative and quantitative analysis, support on client engagement and with new business development activity.

Graduates from STEM programs are desirable but not essential. The role is suited to results orientated individuals with an inquisitive mind who enjoy problem-solving and learning about new technologies and innovations. 1.     Organizational Context

  1. Organizational Setting

The post is located in the Office of the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Patents and Technology Sector (PTS), in the DDG’s capacity as WIPO’s IP and Gender Champion. This function is responsible for implementing WIPO’s strategic goals to promote and encourage female engagement in IP, provide expertise and support services to Member States and external stakeholders and provide the necessary data and information to integrate a gender perspective into IP legislation, policies, programs and projects.

  1. Purpose Statement

The incumbent provides strategic direction on IP and Gender matters and serves as the primary liaison with Member States and external stakeholders on education, research, and capacity building relating to WIPO’s IP and Gender programs.  The incumbent creates and facilitates cross-sectoral programs that enhance access to the IP system for women inventors, innovators, creators and entrepreneurs.

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Deputy Director General, in the DDG’s capacity as WIPO’s IP and Gender Champion.

d.      Work Relations

The Senior Advisor, IP and Gender works closely with a variety of key strategic stakeholders worldwide, including National IP Offices (patents, trademarks and copyrights), Geneva based representatives of Missions, international organizations including the UN, capital representatives, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, corporations, innovators and creators.  In addition, the Senior Advisor, IP and Gender will collaborate closely across all WIPO Sectors, including with the Gender and Diversity Specialist, to formulate and coordinate activities, gather necessary data and information and assess and determine opportunities to drive IP and Gender programs and projects.

As our Legal Counsel you will be joining our in-house legal team in Stockholm, Sweden. ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions has activities across the globe and you will be providing legal advice and guidance to employees and managers at all levels within the Global Solutions division.

In addition to providing legal advice and contract support to our Global organization, you will instruct external legal counsel as and when required. You will also be participating strategic divisional projects in furtherance of the Group’s compliance programs, with the support of the divisional Compliance Officer, Export Control Manager and Data Protection Manager, as well as supporting the division’s strategic goals, including both organic and non-organic growth (M&A).

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and interpreting a wide range of contracts, including sale and purchase of goods and services, technology, software and IP-related agreements and licenses.
  • Supporting Business Areas on legal matters arising in product roll-out in new jurisdictions.
  • Assisting in claims management, litigation and pre-litigation activities, including working with and managing outside counsel (and managing the budget for the matter) to develop strategies to initiate, defend, resolve and prevent various forms of litigation.
  • Supporting M&A transactions.
  • Developing procedures and internal processes designed to bring down Group policies to the division and the respective Business Areas, and
  • Assisting in a wide range of intellectual property issues, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
