Suzanne Harrison and Ruud Peters to join the ICM Global program

CIP is very proud to announce that Ruud Peters and Suzanne Harrison will join David Teece and Bowman Heiden as co-Faculty Directors of the new ICM Global program. This international program, jointly run by CIP and the Tusher Strategic Initiative for Technology Leadership at Berkeley Haas, aims to build a world-class ICM Faculty of leading academic and industry actors globally.

Ruud Peters created one of the largest and most sophisticated IP & Standards operations in the world during his tenure as EVP & CIPO at Philips and continues to advise companies and governments on complex strategy and policy issues at the interface of technology, business, and IP. Suzanne Harrison is a pioneer in the field of ICM, having run a best-practices industry gathering and advised leading firms for more than two decades and authored several seminal books on the topic, including the Edison in the Boardroom series. We couldn’t be more excited to have them on-board

Bowman Heiden is a speaker at this upcoming seminar at Lund University

CIP Director Bowman Heiden will participate in the upcoming seminar on Feb. 29th on “Standardisation: A Tool for Businesses & Society in the EU” hosted by ACLU at Lund University. In connection to the seminar, Dr. Heiden has also written a chapter for the forthcoming booklet on “The Relationship Between Standards and Intellectual Propertypublished by the European Intellectual Property Teachers’ Network and 4iP Council.

Master Thesis Project @Tructric

The thesis project relates to the development of a system for assisted precision maneuvering and comprises two main work packages:

1. Building a limited full-size Minimum Viable Product, to demonstrate Tructric’s concept for Assisted RoRo transshipments (January-March).

2) Gather technology information and learnings from the MVP activities and – based thereupon – outline requirements for the continued development of the assistance system.

The project involves the development of precision maneuvering software, a suitable sensor setup, suitable connectivity, and a user interface for driver assistance. The thesis worker/workers will have a key role for driving the project activities and will collaborate with a team with representatives from Tructric, Chalmers University of Technology (Vehicle Dynamics & Revere), UC Berkeley, and external technology experts.

We are looking for 1-2 thesis workers with relevant backgrounds and interest in programming, vehicle dynamics and control.
